The volume on the MT4 indicator does not show the amount of contracts or volume that has been traded. The volume indicator tracks the amount of price changes for a particular product during the selected time period. To select volume right-click on the chat > Volume.

 

The same actions can be performed by the chart context menu command of the same name or by pressing of accelerating keys of Ctrl+L.
