USD/IDR refers to the exchange rate between the United States dollar (USD) and the Indonesian rupiah (IDR), or how much one US dollar is worth in Indonesian rupiah.
USD is the base currency and IDR is the quote currency. For example, if USD/IDR is trading at 17,000, one US dollar is worth 17,000 Indonesian rupiah.
If USD/IDR rises, the US dollar is strengthening against the rupiah. If it falls, the rupiah is strengthening against the dollar.
The Indonesian rupiah is issued by Bank Indonesia (BI), while the US dollar is managed through monetary policy set by the US Federal Reserve. USD/IDR is widely followed as an emerging-market FX pair.
